Achieved after over 2,800 cumulative hours of clinical training in acupuncture and integrative medicine, including instruction in Chinese classics, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, addiction recovery, and other disciplines. This training incorporates the M.Ac. (Master of Acupuncture) degree, as well.

LAc.= Licensed Acupuncturist.

Dr. Dawn R. Gifford, DOM, Licensed Acupuncturist

Clinical Director, Owner 2013 to Present

Dr. Dawn R. Gifford, DOM, LAc is the Clinically Director and owner of Atlantic Acupuncture. She received her doctoral degree in Oriental Medicine from the Maryland University of Integrative Health, formerly Tai Sophia Institute; one of the first accredited and most highly respected acupuncture schools in the United States.
 
Dr. Gifford is a certified Chinese Herbalist and NADA Detoxification Specialist. She is also a Dragon’s Way Instructor (a 6-week program designed for stress and weight loss). Dr. Gifford, DOM, LAc incorporates Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Qigong, Chinese therapeutic massage (Gua Sha), cupping and nutritional counseling in her practice. While qualified and experienced in the treatment of a many issues, Dr. Gifford’s main focus is pain management, stress, anxiety, infertility, neuropathy, cosmetic acupuncture.
 
She is a member of the American Association of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. Dr. Gifford, DOM, LAc is licensed in the state of Maryland and is passionate about helping you heal safely and naturally while improving your overall quality of health and wellness.
